Lockdown in England. Who can go to work?
Pandemic update: Which providers can work during lockdown?
The United Kingdom is going through another national lockdown that took place in January 6th, 2021.
In order to fight this pandemic, all individuals should stay home and avoid traveling as much as possible.
According to the Government, this lockdown might last until February. Although, nothing is certain yet. This pandemic is unpredictable and we should all stay updated daily about the rules that need to be followed.
But, what does this lockdown mean for our providers?
According to the Government there are a few category of providers that can work outside from home during lockdown, such as:
- Nannies
- Cleaners
- Electricians
- Plumbers
- Handyman
- Tradespersons
Of course these services will be allowed to function only if these workers follow the basic hygienic rules. You have to keep in mind that 1 in 3 people who have coronavirus are asymptotic, so that means they can’t be aware that they are spreading the virus. Our providers are all professionals. Therefore, they strictly follow the sanitation rules that are set by the Government.
Everyone (including the provider and the person who needs the provider) should follow the rules below:
- Wash their hands regularly for at least 20 seconds.
- Not touch their face or eyes when they have a face mask on.
- Keep a face mask at all times while the provider is working.
- Keep a 2 m distance from each other, or at least 1 m if more it’s not possible.
More extended details:
Providers should keep their employers updated on when they arrive, how long will it take to get the work done and what hygiene measurements should be followed from both sides.
After the provider finishes with his/her services, you should clean all areas where the provider worked to maximize hygiene and feel more safe in your house.
According to the new health security measurements, if you need one of the providers mentioned in the paragraphs above, make sure to book one that is located in your living area to avoid traveling outside of it.
Deliveries are also allowed, but must be contact free or minimal contact: during the delivery, when exchanging documents or making payments.
Note: If you have or feel any Coronavirus symptoms then you should not go to work. Ask for medical attendance and do not leave your house.
